Christmas Candy Online

Being Santa Claus isn’t easy, especially in today’s increasingly technical world. Gone are the days of wooden rocking horses and toy soldiers. Now kids want the latest and greatest video gaming system. Do you know just how long it takes an elf to make a Playstation 4? Sheesh! Most elves need a Computer Science degree just to make toys nowadays. And this has really slowed down production at the North Pole. Fortunately, Wockenfuss Candies has made it easier than ever to buy Christmas Candy online, allowing Santa and all of his little helpers to stay on track this holiday season.

Happy Holidays from Wockenfuss!

Wockenfuss is a family owned business, now in its fifth generation of candy-making. As one of the oldest candy makers in Maryland, we know a thing or two about what it takes to make great Christmas candy.

How Stockings Came to Be a Christmas Tradition

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care…

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

Every year since you were little you’ve hung stockings over the fireplace (or elsewhere if you did not have a fireplace). Every year you have done the same thing, but why? Where did this bizarre tradition come from? Unfortunately, no one knows for sure. But there are a few theories. And here is one of them…

There once was a very poor man with three daughters. With no money for dowries, the man feared his daughters would never marry good men. Hearing of this, St. Nicholas of Myra devised a plan. He knew that the father would never accept money, so, instead, St. Nicholas climbed to the top of the family’s home late one night and dropped gold coins down the chimney.

Meanwhile, the three daughters had just finished the day’s laundry and decided to hang their stockings by the fire to dry. The next morning, to everyone’s surprise, the stockings were filled with gold coins, enough money to make each daughter a generous dowry.

As you can imagine, word quickly spread about this holiday miracle. And more and more families began to hang their stockings by the fireplace hoping St. Nicholas would pay them a visit…

The End.
