Are you getting into the spirit of Halloween?

October is finally here, which means the department stores will be filled with Disney princess dresses, superhero suits, and frightening masks. Some of your neighbors will string up cobwebs and put out playful gravestones, while other neighbors will close their curtains and turn off the outdoor lights. Whether you’re a parent with young children or just love getting into the Halloween spirit, the first week of this month is the perfect time to start planning your festivities.

Costumes

Parents with young children, teenagers, or even adults who love dressing up understand the struggle of finding the perfect costume. As the 31st creeps up on us, the prices for costumes will only get more expensive. You may have planned ahead and purchased your ensemble already, but if you haven’t, it’s best to do so as soon as possible. You don’t want to run the risk of procrastinating and having a limited amount of choices.

The House

Decide whether you’re going to board up the windows or decorate in a festive manner. Banners and signs have been cute in the past, but have you considered a different approach?  Go the extra mile with decorative lighting and fun décor. Once you’ve decorated the exterior of your home, take a look at the interior. How can you express your affinity for Halloween culture in the kitchen? Scroll through your Pinterest board and other social media sites for spooky decoration inspiration.

Throwing a Party

If you’re planning to throw a Halloween-themed party, it’s best to get those invitations out now. Halloween doesn’t fall on a weekend this year, so folks need to know when your party will be. Will your party have a specific theme? Halloween parties are a great opportunity to capitalize on scary films, music, or cult themes.

Preparing Treats

Get into the holiday spirit with seasonal candies from Wockenfuss. Finish packing your child’s lunch with a Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Pop as a surprising festive treat to get him/her in the Halloween spirit. Set out a bowl of Milk Chocolate Caramel Filled Ghouls on the kitchen table for guests to enjoy during the entire month. Be sure not to forget about the Candy Corn! This fall favorite is a must-have in any home.
